Conglomeration of universities is becoming a trend in higher education. A cluster of universities can make great contribution to local economy. Many universities exist in one area forming a "university community". This article explores the economic contribution of eight research universities to the economic development in Boston area in order to provide some reference to our country’s university communities in developing a good relationship with their locality.
