The literature officer equaled to the local official school’s teacher in Han Dynasty. With the development of the study of classics, their arrangement was increasingly specified; the numbers as large and they are widely deployed. Generally speaking, if they were familiar with the classics, they could take the post. Their responsibilities include the management of school, the instruction to the students, carrying out education etc. Their bureaucratic nature was reflected in many aspects, especially in their appointment and promotion.
