本研究旨在探討男性數學資優國中生的同儕關係，為了對這三位男性數學資優國中生在同儕關係上所面臨的問題有整體而全面瞭解，本研究採取質性的多重個案研究作為研究方法，資料蒐集過程歷時約為一年，包含有深度訪談這三位學生以及其母親、文件審查以及這些學生的活動觀察等。所發現的主題為：需要眾人的注意、與他人互動時的高度敏感性、朋友比父母為更常分享心事的對象、否認大部分同班同學為真正資優、對於同儕競爭所持的態度影響其對於安置方式的偏好。這些發現與現存的文獻進行比較，之後加以討論並且提出建議。

| 英文摘要 |
The purpose of this research study was to examine the peer relationships ofmathematically gifted junior high school male students. In order to gain a holistic picture ofthe peer-related issues encountered by three mathematically gifted junior high school malestudents, this study adopted a research design of qualitative multi-case study. The processof data collection took approximately one year, which included in-depth interviews withthe three students and their mothers, document review, and observation of their learningactivities. The themes uncovered were strong need for attention, heightened sensitivityduring the interaction with others, the higher frequency of sharing words in mind withfriends than with parents, denial of natural giftedness in most of their classmates, andinfluence of their attitude toward peer competition on their placement preference. Thesefindings were discussed in the context of the existing literature, and implications for theeducation of the gifted male students were presented.
