東漢末年，荀悅編纂《漢紀》，使編年體更加完備，得以和紀傳體成為中國史書各擅勝場的兩種體例，就中國史學的發展而言，《漢紀》對編年體的改良頗具意義。然而在中國史學名著中，《漢紀》並未獲得特別的盛名享譽，此現象引起筆者的關注。本文研究結果認為，若就史學著作的原創性來評論《漢紀》，實為創新而非創造。再者，荀悅「列繫年月，通比其事」的寫作方法，毋寧是一種整理史料的編纂技巧，而非重視事實，考論事實以發明其真相，從而推論其關係，再加以敘述重建。東漢史學在官方力量干預下已成為教化臣民的工具，在時代和荀悅自身個人才、學、識的侷限下，皆使得《漢紀》的史學成就有限。

Toward the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Xun Yue compiled " Han Ji ",which made the chronological more complete. And then chronological and biographical became two important styles in China's history books. As to the development of Chinese history, "Han Ji" has quite significant influence on improving chronological. However, in the famous Chinese historian, the "Han Ji " has not been particularly well-known reputation, this phenomenon caused by the author's attention. This study concluded that, if the historical works of the original to comment, "Han Ji", in fact, rather than the creation of innovation. Furthermore, Xun Yue "row the time and keep track of events" this writing method, merely has been considered a historiography . That doesn’t emphasis on the fact, and inspect the fact, then in order to find truth, finally to infer the relationship, coupled with a narrative reconstruction. Under government’s power, Eastern Han Dynasty history has become a tool to educate people. Limited the times and Xun Yue his own talent, learning, knowledge, hat all caused "Han Ji " to have imited historical achievements.
