英语是一门语言，语言的本质是用来交际的。作为一种被广泛普及的交际工具，英语教学的目的是培养学生具有使用这种交际工具的能力；学生们学习英语的最终目的是实现可以用英语进行沟通。随着教学改革的不断深入，口语在听、说、读、写四项基本语言技能中地位得到了很大提升，全面实施大学英语口语教学已被提上议事日程，但目前仍有许多因素制约着大学英语口语教学和学生的口语学习。本文通过分析大学英语口语教学的现状，指出口语在大学英语教学中的重要性，并通过改变教师教学方式，培养学生学习策略等方面对如何提高大学生英语口语水平进行探讨。

| 英文摘要 |
English is a kind of language, whose essence is to communicate. As a widely used communicative tool, the aim of English teaching is to make the students have the ability to communicate, while the aim of English learning is to be able to communicate in English. With the development of English teaching reform, the importance of speaking English is widely accepted；and oral English teaching in universities is in course of applying. But there are still many factors that restrict English teaching and students’ English learning. By analyzing the current situation of oral English teaching in universities, the article will point out the importance of oral English in English teaching, and do some research on how to improve students’ oral English through changing the way of English teaching and the way of students’ learning as well.
