當代學者已從作者、禪師派別、版本考證與禪學思想等方面研究廓庵〈十牛圖頌〉，本文與前人不同之處，在於結合「習慣領域」與近代身心整合觀點探析廓庵〈十牛圖頌〉轉化歷程。筆者以為藉習慣領域中行為與決策動態模式，解說〈十牛圖頌〉抽象心性習氣，將可具體清晰了解身心轉化脈絡與奧祕。因內在心性的蛻變，可從外顯行為轉化窺伺而得，身心本是一體，當慣性作為的瓦解與崩落，正是生命的重生。本文以「自我覺察」與「蛻變重生」作為研究視角，廓庵
〈十牛圖頌〉的修心造命歷程圖，其進化動力即是自我透過覺察觀照，深入探索生命的慣性作為，發現問題的所源，進而以實修的行動突破與穿越，「自我覺察」與「蛻變重生」在每個階段同時並進，同時運作，相互滲透影響。廓庵〈十牛圖頌〉清晰呈現探尋、照見、馴化、蛻變、重生等五個不同轉化歷程，每一階段都是對舊有信念、慣性作為的覺察與蛻變，以深入探尋生命究竟被什麼掌控開始，終至蛻變而重生，逐一轉化惡習陋性與陰暗電網，改變實際領域，進入開闊無垠的潛在領域，最後以光明心態行走人生，世界成為佈施奉獻的場所與使命樂園。

| 英文摘要 |
Kuo An’s series “Short Poems of Ten Ox Herding Pictures” have been variously researched by the contemporary academia in several approaches, such as The author,Zen Buddhist monk's group and edition researches to thought with Zen Buddhism etc.The essay aims at combining the theory of ‘habitual domains’ and the viewpoint of‘contemporary spiritual integration’ to explain the transitional process of mentality discussed in Kuo An’s poems. The essay also explores the transitional process of mentality from the perspectives of ‘self-awareness’ and ‘transformational rebirth’. As a result.the undersanding of the five transitional processes seeking,enlightening,taming,transforming and rebith discussed in kuo an's poems would help us to reflect our life and further look at it positively.
